This Time is a project about release: the desire for it, the pursuit of it, and its approach. Each song offers a meditation on the way of release and what it requires: awakening to possibility (“Something More”), receptivity (“Key of Gray”), faith in the form of patient waiting (“What If”), and radical action (“This Time”). “Something More” expresses an intense yearning to transcend limitations and a growing sense that it just might be possible. “Key of Gray” describes the experience of being called to inspired creativity and contemplation: a girl is summoned to her piano and transformed while playing it. “What If?” stages a hopeful call-and-positive response encounter as a witness to another’s dark night encourages perseverance and expectation of dawn. An anthem of emancipation, the title track “This Time” celebrates that moment when enough is enough, you know it, and you set yourself free.
