Little Bird is a soothing multilingual album that combines a classically inspired minimalism with emotional intensity and range. Piano, string, and solo voice carry listeners on a timeless, lyrical journey through a fluid expanse of states and experiences, from ethereal innocence to searing insight, from chanson to pop ballad. Little Bird features stories that span hearts, minds, centuries, and cultures, and songs that reflect a love of history, humanity, poetry, and art. It was conceived with love for the active in mind and the tender of heart. It is my second studio album.

Lyrics
1. Little Bird
Walking in the dark
Beneath trees and bright stars
I sense movement, catch a spark
I look up and there you are
Piercing yellow eyes
Staring past the sky
Silent seer of the deep
Share your vision with me
Soar little bird
High above the earth
Take me on your holy flight
Let me see through you tonight
Golden rings in black
See the moon, reflect it back
Athena’s sacred sight
My sweet guardian of the light
Soar little bird
High above the earth
Take me on your holy flight
Let me see through you tonight
Take me there. Take me now
Beyond the shadow and my doubt
Take me on your holy flight
Let me see through you tonight
Let me see the truth tonight
2. Giant
A giant arrived among them
Impressed them with his height
Offered shelter in his stride
A grey-scale rainbow they trailed behind.
Little by little, step by step
The landscape changed before them
In curious ways
And the fog rolled in
And the sky grew dim
There were clouds in their eyes
And the veil grew thin
And the dark set in
And they couldn’t tell left from right
As day turned to night
The day turned grey
The giant rose among them
Cast a shadow, eclipsed their light
Divided them from each other
Till the strong chose to fight
Little by little, step by step
The landscape changed before them
In curious ways
And the fog rolled out
And the sky lit up
There was sun in their eyes
And the veil stayed thin
And the light streamed in
And they knew they’d be alright
As night turned to day
The day radiates
3. Turn to You
A twinkle in her eye
First walk outside
So much to see
So much to do
A tiny step
A small regret
She falls, she asks
‘Do I stand or cry?’
Ooooh, she turns to you
Ooooh, to get her through
Ooooh, she turns to you
He puts aside his doubt
Climbs on the boat
That would to take them
To a dream beyond the waves
A path outgrown
A fate unknown
On the wide sea
He asks “Will I fail or succeed?”
Ooooh, he turns to you
Ooooh, to get him through
Ooooh, he turns to you
What do you do?
What do you do?
When the only way out is through?
What do you choose?
What do you choose?
When there’s nothing left lose
Ooooh, I turn to you
Ooooh, to get me through
Ooooh, I turn to you
I turn to you
4. Hold On
Brave face
Feigned grace
Smile when
You want to cry
Sad farewell
Deeply felt
No answers
That satisfy
When the night is cold
And you feel alone
Hold on
Hold on
This too shall pass
This too shall pass
Downcast eyes
Swallowed sighs
Silence when
You want to yell
An ending’s here
Next steps aren’t clear
A door closed
No window’s in sight
When the wall is high
And you don’t want to climb
Hold on
Hold on
This too shall pass
This too shall pass
5. Intangible Things
I wake up
It’s 3am
I hear music
An ancient hymn
Talking to me
Echoing
In the four walls
Of the mess we’re in
We started
Like a dream
I was the brightest
Star you’d seen
You lit up my nights
Like no one else
But when my heart broke
So did everything else
When what you get
Ain’t what it seems
And what you need
Are intangible things
It was a place
Only I could go
It was between me
And my soul
But you waited for me
On the distant shore
And from the waves
I felt your support
And I’m back now
And everything’s changed
Because I’m different
And you’re not the same
In the spaces
Where we grew and changed
I grew stronger
Now you’re pulling away
When what you get
Ain’t what it seems
And what you need
Are intangible things
And what you need
Are intangible things
6. Le Vide
Le panier reste vide sur la table
Dehors, les oiseaux ne chantent plus
La mort règne depuis ton départ
Maître de mon silence aïgu
Des éclairs passent par la fenêtre
Éphémères, ils ne demeurent pas le soir
Comme toi, ils entrent sans invitation
M’illuminent, puis me laissent dans le noir.
Un océan, tes vagues vont et viennent
Basculant entre choix libre et absent
Elles m’entourent, elles me repoussent
Me résistent, puis m’effleurent en partant
Mon soleil, tu crées un désert
Un berceau sec et suffocant
Tes rayons brûlent la vie naissante
La tuent d’un feu si accablant
Tu me tues d’une chaleur accablante
7. Ever After, Never More
If I had a dollar
For every time you lied
For every time I wondered
For every tear I cried
I’d long for no more worldly goods
Heaven would remain
The single, solitary prize
I’d have left to claim
How you smiled so smugly
How you hurt so much
The people that you claimed to love
The people that you touched
You smell of things gone rotten
A heart too hard to feel
The pulse of life within it
Encased in polished steel
And I’ll love you ever after
And I’ll love you never more
Your attempts to cheapen me
Won’t hurt me anymore
Perhaps you think I’m stupid
Indeed I’ve had to learn
To see with open eyes
The truth behind your pride
I hate you for your glory
I loathe you for your crown
The pedestal you clamour from
While those around you drown.
Your hatefulness is catching
Like a plague it grows and spreads
To tender spots in gentle ones
That no one else defends
And I’ll love you ever after
And I’ll love you never more
Your attempts to cheapen me
Won’t hurt me anymore
8. All That Glitters
Snow falls down all around
You hold me in your arms
We’re taken in by the glowing lights
The beauty of it all.
We’re present to each other
The only moment’s now
And it’s easy to see
And to believe it might be real.
All that glitters might be gold
Our dreams might magically unfold
It’s world in love
It’s a world inspired
We go deeper, further, higher
Sitting by the fire,
hand in loving hand
Planning with each other
adventures in new lands.
All that glitters might be gold
Our dreams might magically unfold
It’s world in love
It’s a world inspired
We go deeper, further, higher
All that glitters might be gold
Our dreams might magically unfold
It’s a world in love
9. The Gift
An ocean breeze lifts my hair
A scent of home fills the air
I close my eyes to the morning light
I see visions of you
When a gentle soul lends a hand
A shining smile leads the band
Kind words bring delight
I see reflections of you
The gift of your love lives on in my heart
The gift of your light means I’m never in the dark
The gift of you is a wonderous grace
Your presence, your essence, your way
Your presence, your essence, your way
A knowing gaze at the kitchen sink
A trembling hand, my love to greet
The contours of my face and cheek
I see images of you
The gift of your love lives on in my heart
The gift of your light means I’m never in the dark
The gift of you is a wonderous grace
Your presence, your essence, your way
Your presence, your essence, your way
10. S’un Casto Amor (poem by Michelangelo Buonarroti)
S’un casto amor
s’una pietà superna,
s’una fortuna infra dua
amanti equale,
s’un aspra sorte
all’un dell’altro cale,
s’un spirito, s’un voler
duo cor governa;
s’un’anima in duo corpi
è fatta etterna,
ambo levando al cielo
e con pari ale;
s’Amor d’un colpo
e d’un dorato strale
le viscer di duo petti
arda e discerna;
s’aman l’un l’altro
e nessun medesmo,
d’un gusto e d’un diletto,
a tal mercede
s’a un fin voglia
l’uno e l’altro porre:
se mille e mille,
non sarien centesmo
a tal nodo d’amore
a tanta fede;
e sol l’isdegno il può
rompere e sciorre.
S’un casto amor
s’una pietà superna,
s’un casto amor
s’un casto
amor
11. The Poet
Sun shines through
The crystal blue
That opens to
Worlds between
Worlds beyond
Me and you
Light touches down
Illuminates her crown
A golden halo
That holds her
That holds us
In love
Leaving no song unsung
Leaving no song unsung
Words emerge
She chooses the best
To express
Movements within
Movements w/out
The pulse of life
Her pen dances
Her pages sing
Of everything
Worth saying
Worth sharing
The truths of life
Leaving no song unsung
Leaving no song unsung
Life needs a witness
The poet’s work is never done
Whatever you do in life,
Her verses seem to say,
They seem to pray,
Leave no song unsung
Leave no song unsung
Play every chord
Hit every note
Consonant or dissonant
Happy
or sad
Leave no song unsung
Leave no song unsung
In the album of your life
Leave no song unsung
